- to build or develop property, appoint a geometra to draw up plans/planning permission and obtain quotes from builders (imprese)
- to open an Italian bank account or arrange a Euro mortgage (lower interest rates than UK) through a major Italian bank
- to obtain an Italian "codice fiscale" (equivalent to our National Insurance number). This is an important document and needed even by non-residents for many bureaucratic and financial procedures. The good news is that it is one of the few things that you can get easily and is free!
- to negotiate the Italian legal and bureaucratic procedures. Not necessarily quick or simple, but it can be done, and is well worth the effort!
